Keep Up The Humor - Educational Play
Daniel Pink in his book, "A Whole New Mind" points out that "play" is productive and healthy. It certainly is. If I can't have fun as I teach and spread that fun like butter on a hot piece of toast to the students, sooner or later my profession turns into drudgery. If you read my December 1, 2009 blog on Wegmans (I know you didn't because your not reading this blog entry) you know how to make a business better; by pleasing and looking after the employee. A happy teaching employee makes a happy learning place and a happy learning place makes teaching and learning enjoyable, productive, and easier to accomplish all that we need to do in that learning place. What a mouth full! When we make our day and place enjoyable with humor and fun for ourselves and our students then our craft becomes an enjoyable enriching endeavor even when we need to empty a few filthy bedpans like I did today.
