I'm a bit fascinated with these forms. I see something similar in Van Gogh's Starry Night. The moon beams with shiny shininess. This half moon form is alluring to the viewer. The golden yellow surrounded by the cool blue provides quite a contrast. I don't think that Van Gogh directly inspires these formations, yet perhaps subconsciously I have let this simple, child-like mesmerizing form affect my work. Another thought arises as I tug my ear. What of this shape? Does it not look like a severed auditory harnessing apparatus? I think it does! What revelation! This painting foretells what happen to Vincent years before he did it to himself! Be assured, I still have both of mine, for now. It's late and I'm heading off the bed after a glass of absinthe at the nearest French cafe. See you in tomorrow's class! Please don't speak too loud as my head will have an ache.
